The world’s a huge place across countries and seas,

So many people finding their right place to be.

In homes, in cities, in boats along shores,

People, their families live snug behind doors.

Some people have moved and found brand new homes,

In countries and lands far flung from their own.

They take their possessions, their beliefs and loved ones,

And set up again, new friendships and homes.

With their foods, their cultures and history they come,

To join a global family to live peacefully as one.

And snug in our homes, in our schools and communities,

We go about life – playing and learning – whatever we please.

But in some places some people have different ideas,

They live in hate not love and spread all their fears.

They do terrible acts that they think are right,

But they’re ever so wrong – they don’t live in the light.

And everyday people like you and like me,

We have to remember that we’re part of a world-wide family.

We care for each other, our friends and for you too,

Because, precious children you’re our future – yes you!

Don’t let the hatred, the fear sewn by few,

Be part of your story – our big world needs you.

Your future shines brightly, live big, each day new,

We stand with you our children, remember, we’ve got you.
