Frequently Asked Questions – Digital Subscriptions and Product Purchases

Each of the subscription options have fixed components that can’t be removed or exchanged. However, the components are also available for purchase outside of a subscription bundle. Please refer to the Teal/Orange Pricing Grid or email [email protected]

This refers to a complete set of both Little Highway Heroes and Highway Heroes. The Three Year License includes two complete hard copy sets of both Little Highway Heroes and Highway Heroes (and the accompanying Digital License). The One Year License, includes one complete hard copy set of both (and the accompanying Digital License).

There is one video training for each of the four Highway Heroes Modules, each sixty to seventy-five minutes long.

The standard components of each Module are identified:

• Five Lesson Plans
• Five Lesson Outlines
• Coloured Resources for each Lesson
• Parent Information on each of the five Lessons
• Home Activities
• Pitstop Checklists (evaluation)

The unique concepts and language of each Module are explained through consideration of the structure and content of each of the five Lessons. The key skills taught in each Lesson Plan are identified together with the processes used to teach them. The relevant differences for School Years 1 – 3 and School Years 4 – 6 are noted.

This training comprises an introduction to the language, concepts and key skills of Little Highway Heroes and the four blocks of learning covered: The Highway (the metaphor of The Highway); The Playground Highway, The Emotional Highway and The Classroom Highway.

Each of the five Lessons in the four blocks of learning are discussed by exploring their structure, the concept or skill being taught and the activities involved. A song and a story, each illustrating the concept or skill being taught accompany each lesson and nine hand-sized puppets can create various scenarios.

There are two parent videos: Introduction to Little Highway Heroes and Introduction to Highway Heroes. If the school’s subscription level does not include either – or both – of the Parent Introduction Videos, they can be purchased separately.

Each video discusses what ‘Social and Emotional Learning’ entails, the evidence base for it and the core skills students will learn in Little Highway Heroes and/or Highway Heroes. The language and concepts for each program are explained together with identifying the key skills students learn to positively manage themselves and various social and emotional situations.

When the school’s subscription includes the Parent Introduction videos parents will be given a separate link to BEST Programs’ YouTube Channel where the videos are featured. If the school’s subscription does not include the Parent Introduction videos, an annual license for either – or both – can be purchased separate to the products the school purchased. A link to the videos will be supplied by the school to the parent community.

Yes, any quantity of hard copy Highway Heroes Modules can be purchased and do not form part of any subscription.

A twelve month’s video training for each of the four Highway Heroes Modules is mandatory and will be included in the purchase. A renewal notice for the twelve month’s subscription to the video training will be emailed four weeks and then two weeks prior to the original purchase date. Two email addresses are required to ensure successful delivery.

An annual subscription permits unlimited printing for the sole use – that is in the physical space – of that subscriber. This means that in the case of multiple campus locations for a school, the distribution to other campuses violates copyright. An individual subscription for each school’s physical location is required.
